About the founder

From first-gen scholar to college coach

LaTasha Mosley, Ph.D. (she/her) knows firsthand the power of the right guidance. As a first-generation scholar, she was determined to attend her dream school—Spelman College—without placing a financial burden on her family. With dedicated mentors and smart strategies, she graduated debt-free which opened doors to scholarships and fellowships that fueled her academic journey.

LaTasha went on to earn a Master of Arts in Sociology and Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in Language and Literacy from Georgia State University. Along the way, she received numerous scholarships and fellowships, including the Coca-Cola Scholars Program and the Provost’s Dissertation Fellowship. She has also served as a scholarship reviewer for UNCF, giving her insight into what makes applications stand out.

When she’s not working with students, LaTasha enjoys exploring new restaurants in Atlanta, taking walks with her husband and their German Shepherd, and practicing her Spanish.

Why BLD Blueprints exists

Inspired by the mentors who guided her, LaTasha created BLD Blueprints to fill a critical gap in the college application process. Traditional counselors often carry heavy caseloads, leaving students and families without the personalized support they need. BLD Blueprints offers that one-on-one guidance—pairing strategy with encouragement so families can pursue higher education with clarity and confidence.
